BackOffice Associates Cited as a “Strong Performer” in Data Quality Solutions by Independent Research Firm

Company’s Highest Scores Were For Data Governance and Stewardship

SOUTH HARWICH, Mass. – December 17, 2015 – BackOffice Associates, a worldwide leader of information governance and data modernization solutions, today announced that it has been named a Strong Performer by Forrester Research in its independent report, “The Forrester Wave™: Data Quality Solutions, Q4 2015.” This is the first time the company has been included in a Forrester Wave™ evaluation.

BackOffice Associates was among 13 data quality providers invited by Forrester for lab-based evaluation and interviews in the report. Vendor selection criteria included breadth of functionality, leadership in data quality, broad market presence and interest from Forrester clients.

BackOffice’s top scores were for data governance and stewardship, enrichment, security and global presence.

“Being included on the Wave for the first time and receiving this Strong Performer recognition by Forrester for our robust data quality toolset is a tremendous honor,” said Rex Ahlstrom chief strategy officer of BackOffice Associates. “We believe the recent recognition by the analyst community reflects our marketplace strength in offering Global 2000 customers the most innovative software and best practice approaches for managing their key data quality initiatives.”

In the report, Forrester said, “Global data volume will grow over the next six years, from 4.4 zettabytes to 44 zettabytes. Organizations will generate this growth by focusing on data beyond application and transactional data to include Internet, mobile, and other sensor/machine data to better understand customers.”

Additionally, the report highlighted the rise of hybrid data environments, stating, “sixty six percent of data and analytics decision-makers say their firms have implemented, are expanding, or are planning to implement big data. Additionally, 72% of infrastructure decision-makers note that their organizations have implemented, are expanding, or are planning to implement cloud, whether public, privately hosted, or internally private.”

The report included a thorough evaluation and lab session of the BackOffice Data Stewardship Platform (DSP) 6.3 platform, which provides complete orchestration of the business process across data-intensive activities in migrations, data quality, governance and data archival. A modern, web-based, single sign-on software, the DSP enables both business and IT users to manage all data stewardship tasks, from managing rules that standardize an organization’s data to correcting data errors and uploading harmonized data into new or consolidated systems.
