Redeveloping a Media Presence

As Datatel’s market presence was struggling without a formal public relations strategy and fragmented internal roles and responsibilities, Young & Associates was brought onboard for an aggressive campaign to revitalize the program, renew media interest and re-establish the company’s thought leadership presence.

Kicking off at EDUCAUSE, a premier education technology event, by leveraging major product announcements, Young & Associates secured reintroduction briefings with higher education media and analysts including University Business, Campus Technology, Inside Higher Ed and Community College Journal as well as Forrester Research and Gartner.

Following EDUCAUSE, Young & Associates led a comprehensive full-service program that increased Datatel’s industry visibility as well as reinforced the company’s market leader position with a continued emphasis on media relations and the speaker program. Young & Associates quickly developed and successfully promoted client-win press releases during the program, which had not been accomplished in some time.

Culminating the campaign – in which Young & Associates lived up to its reputation as a get-the-job-done tech PR powerhouse, Young & Associates led a targeted Washington DC business media push highlighting the strength of the Datatel+SGHE combination (now Ellucian), which garnered coverage in the Washington Post and Washington Business Journal, among others.
