Chalk & Wire and Oral Roberts University Present Assessment Best Practices

Ridgeway, Ontario – (June 3, 2015) – Higher education assessment provider Chalk & Wire announced today that CEO Geoff Irvine will co-present with Michael Mathews, CIO of Oral Roberts University, regarding the school’s approach to assessment at the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities 2015 Commission on Technology Conference at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.

In the presentation, “Living Your Mission in the Cloud — High Impact Assessment Systems for Traditional and Online Students,” Mathews will demonstrate Chalk & Wire and its integration with learning management system D2L and student information system Banner. The integration has transformed Oral Roberts University’s curriculum into a nationally recognized model – “Whole Person Assessment” – which focuses on data-gathering and personal assessment. Students submit entries into the portfolio as evidence that educational and growth objectives are being met. Evaluations, coursework, test scores and other accomplishments are submitted at entry, intermediate and capstone levels.
“With a full-featured assessment platform, Chalk & Wire allows us to more clearly demonstrate evidence of student learning,” said Mathews. “They’ve helped us use accreditation data about student performance to dramatically improve program delivery and learning cross-campus.”
The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities’ Commission on Technology Annual Conference focuses on the unique challenges facing those seeking to understand and implement technology at CCCU institutions.
