BackOffice Associates Celebrates Banner Year for Software Growth and Information Governance Industry Leadership

Company Achieved Major Global Customer Wins, Significant Investment and Delivered New Digital Transformation Practice Offerings for Multifaceted Migrations to SAP S/4HANA®

HYANNIS, Mass. and McLEAN, Va. – March 7, 2018 – Coming off a banner year for software growth and innovation, BackOffice Associates, the worldwide leader in information governance and data stewardship solutions, today shared its significant milestones for 2017. The organization celebrated record employee growth – counting over 800 employees at year’s end – as well as key customer wins throughout the North America, Europe and Africa, and Asia Pacific Japan regional offices, and welcomed a major private equity investment to help drive the company’s current and future expansion. Additionally, BackOffice Associates introduced new offerings in its Digital Transformation Practice to help organizations expertly migrate multifaceted environments to SAP S/4HANA®, as well as unveiled the general availability of its Information Governance Cloud (IGC) cloud solution for holistic information governance.

“2017 was a pivotal year for BackOffice Associates. Building on decades of experience leading the information governance and data stewardship marketplaces, we accelerated our growth strategy to deliver new innovations across our customer base worldwide,” said David Booth, CEO of BackOffice Associates. “BackOffice is once again positioned for unprecedented growth in 2018, as we look forward to helping customers address their most pressing data challenges – from navigating SAP S/4HANA deployments and GDPR compliance to incorporating intelligent automation and managing complex heterogeneous IT landscapes.”

Global Achievements

The Europe and Africa division delivered another outstanding year in 2017 with software revenue growth exceeding 54 percent. Reflecting its traction among enterprises embarking on SAP® ERP and SAP S/4HANA migrations and consolidations, BackOffice’s local region attributed more than 70 percent of its annual software business to net new clients. Also the team extended its reach into new markets with substantial growth in Spain and France.

“BackOffice’s Digital Transformation Practice has helped our existing and new customers with their journey to SAP S/4HANA, delivering the complete cycle from strategy, migration and consolidation to full implementation,” said Clive Bellmore, CEO of Europe and Africa, BackOffice Associates. “There is no doubt that the demand for SAP S/4HANA and associated services is growing rapidly, and BackOffice Associates is well positioned to support our customers with their business transformation initiatives through 2018 and beyond.”

On the Asia Pacific Japan and Middle East front, the region secured major client wins including a Philippines-based financial institution, a multinational Philippines-based fast food chain, and Orica. The team also achieved successful go-live implementations for clients including Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains in Australia, and in Singapore, a major public sector finance department and Singapore Power, Duty Free Singapore (DFS) and Concepcion Industrial Corporation.

“Over the last year, we’ve seen increased adoptions of SAP S/4HANA, and customers are realizing they cannot handle data the same way as they did during the on-premise days. An end-to-end data accountability, validation and relevancy check are now required, along with reduction of data volumes – demanding the specific skills and knowledge that BackOffice Associates is known for. We’ve also seen more organizations realizing the need to establish data governance and data standards, and how data can play a central role in decision-making and execution,” said Krish Datta, CEO, Asia Pacific Japan and Middle East, BackOffice Associates.

New Funding, Partnerships and Industry Accolades

Among its major achievements, BackOffice Associates welcomed its largest private investment to date from Bridge Growth Partners. It also named William (Bill) Green, former CEO and chairman of Accenture, as its new Chairman of the Board, among other new blue-chip board members, as well as appointed Steve Webber as CFO.

Adding further traction to its market-leading partnerships, BackOffice Associates extended its global reseller agreement with SAP by adding new offerings to its Digital Transformation Practice to aid enterprises’ transition to SAP S/4HANA as their digital core. Additionally, the company continued developing and advancing strategic industry partnerships with systems integration leaders such as Infor.

The company also earned prominent industry analyst recognition again in Gartner’s Market Guide for Information Stewardship Applications and Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools report, as well as in Forrester’s Wave report on Data Governance Stewardship and Discovery Providers. Additionally, it received premier industry accolades including Database Trends and Applications’ (DBTA) Readers’ Choice Award for Best Data Governance Solution and the DBTA 100, which celebrates the companies that matter most in data.
